Mitty Collier
Mitty was born June 21, 1941 in Alabama, US.
She is likey most remembered as a one-hit wonder with 'I Had A Talk With My Man Last Night' which was originally a gospel tune and 'man' was substituted for 'God' turning it into a very different song.
Her career began in the church with The Hayes Ensemble which travelled throughout the southern states. Mitty was discovered by Ralph Bass of Chess Records who found her performing in a talent show - but she never severed her strong connection to the church. She signed with Chess around 1961 and won talent contests on a regular basis
In answer to Johnny Taylor's 'Parkt Time Love' Mitty recorded 'I'm Your Part Time Love' and in 1964 she brought out that song she is most famous for ....'I Had A Talk With My Man Last Night' - produced by Billy Davis - originally a spirituaol by James Cleveland.
Today, she serves as a pastor for a church in Chicago. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
